System III Waterproofing Between Slab
TWO MEMBRANES IN ONE TOUGH COMPOSITE SYSTEM

Features

Excellent Durability – The result of the unique field installed Composite Design.

Cost Effective – The material costs and installation speed, make this a high value, quality, and performance solution.

Accurate and Precise Installation – Is assured with the incorporation of the unique seam sealing method, which becomes a part of the cured membrane.

No Seam Failures – The highly flexible spray-applied, monolithic membrane bonds and moves with the bottom concrete slab, while the sheet good acts like a slip sheet, allowing the top concrete slab to expand and contract independent of the bottom structure.

Dual Protection – Both components of the systems are waterproofing membranes and are ideal for the placement of a drainage system for paving units.

The Components:

BASE MEMBRANE – ECOLINE-S
A spray-applied, high-build, exceptionally flexible, monolithic membrane that is the pliable, bonding gasket in the system.

TOP MEMBRANE – ECOSHIELD-E15
An extremely tough, puncture and abrasion resistant poly-olefin sheet good that protects the other components from other construction damage and whose roll dimension 12ft x 120ft minimizes the number of seams in the protection course.

OPTIONAL TOP MEMBRANE
A lightweight roofing felt may be used when a bond breaking surface is not desired, such as for thin-set grout.

OPTIONAL DESIGN – ECODRAIN-S
A high compressive strength polystyrene drainage composite for tile or paving unit construction.

The Installation Steps:

Step 1 – Detailing
• Treat all cold joints (both 90 and 180 degree) by applying a coat of ECOLINE-R, embedding fabric 3-inches on each side of seam in it and then applying a second coat over the fabric.
• Treat all penetrations in the same fashion, except applying 6-inches on to the penetration and field with fabric and ECOLINE-R.
• Fill all honeycombs, rock pockets, and missing mortar joints with hydraulic cement or rapid set grout.

Step 2 – Base Membrane
• Place spray-markers every 12-ft. in all directions. (a)
• Begin spray application of ECOLINE from the lowest point on horizontal plane. (b)
• Spray application pattern should be in 4ft x 4ft passes to a 20-mil build each pass.

Step 3 – Top Membrane
• Lay ECOSHIELD in same direction of the treated control joints.
• Treat both sides of overlaps with ECOLINE-R and compress with roller.
• Apply ECOSHIELD-TAPE along seam overlapping two-inches on each side.
• Terminate to exterior perimeter substrate by turning a six-inch flap up and applying seam sealer to flap and substrate and then attaching a termination bar to the flap and substrate.
