System III WATERPROOFING ICFs
A FLUID APPLIED AND SHEET MEMBRANE IN ONE SYSTEM

Features

Excellent Structural Integrity – The result of the unique field installed Composite Design, which prevents backfill damage.

More Protection - Eliminates gas vapors, root damage, and resists chemical attack and insect damage.

Built-in Redundancy – All three components of the system are waterproofing membranes, thus providing complete system integrity.

No Seam Failures or Delamination – The highly flexible monolithic membrane bonds tenaciously to the ICF and to the extremely tough sheet good.

Handling Water and Earth Movement – Is assured with the unique incorporation of the polyolefin sheet good and drainage composite, which move independently of each other while providing double protection and drainage for the spray applied or fluid applied membrane.

The Components:

RUBBER COAT - ECOLINE-R
A fluid-applied, high-build, exceptionally flexible, monolithic membrane that is the pliable, completely bonded substrate waterproofing membrane. (Ecobase may be used)

RED COAT – ECOSHIELD-E
An extremely tough, non-degrading poly-olefin sheet good that comes in various sized rolls for easy installation with a minimum of seams that acts as the primary protection course for the liquid membrane and as waterproofing membrane.

RAIN COAT – ECODRAIN-E
An exceptionally durable yet pliable drainage composite that protects the other components from construction damage, while providing drainage and acting as another membrane.

Additional Components:
• 4 oz. scrim (optional)
• Polyester Fabric (6")
• Termination Bars
• Ecoshield Underslab Vapor Barrier

Optional Components:
• Footer Drainage Pipe Not Requiring Gravel

1.) Cold Joint
2.) Penetration
3.) Ties & Joints

The Installation Steps:

Step 1 – Detailing
• Treat all cold joints (both 90 and 180 degree) by applying a coat of ECOLINE-R or T, (A) embedding fabric (B) 3-inches on each side of seam in it and then applying a second coat over the fabric. (Step 1.1)
• Treat all penetrations in the same fashion, except applying 6-inches on to the penetration and field with fabric and ECOLINE-R.
(Step 1.2)
• Non-ICF walls - treat all tie-holes by brush with ECOLINE-T. Fill all honeycombs, rock pockets, and missing mortar joints with hydraulic cement or rapid set grout.

Step 2 – Waterproofing Membrane
• Begin the application of ECOLINE-R from the bottom to top, always applying to the footer first.
• Roller application should be done in 30-mil (wet) build on coats with a minimum of two coats. (A 4 oz. scrim may be imbedded in first coat for reinforcement)
• All interior 90 degree, cold joints should have an additional coat.
• At grade line an extra coat should be applied to provide a gasket where the other components are attached to the wall. (above brickledge)

Step 3 – Protection Course
• Begin installing bottom course ECOSHIELD at a corner position on the wall to allow bottom to extend down and over footer. Begin installing second course at grade line in one direction, attach with temporary fasteners, and with six-inch overlaps on vertical and horizontal (top over bottom) seams.
• Treat both sides of overlap with ECOLINE-R and compress with a roller.
• Apply ECOSHIELD-Tape along seams overlapping two-inches on each side.

Step 4 – Drainage Course
• Start from top of grade or brick ledge and attach ECODRAIN-E to the wall at the top flange of drainage mat and fabric tucked behind flange, with termination bars and appropriate fasteners, through the other membranes.
• Overlap drainage mat six-inches at seams by pulling back filter fabric, applying ECOLINE-R on bottom area's dimples, and snapping dimples together. On horizontal seams top sheet should overlap bottom sheet.
