System III Methane Barrier, Beneath Slab
THREE BARRIERS IN ONE TOUGH COMPOSITE SYSTEM

Features

Excellent Tensile Strength – The result of the unique field installed Composite Design.

Cost Effective – The material costs and installation-speed, make this a high value, quality, and performance solution.

Accurate and Precise Installation – Is assured with the incorporation of the unique seam sealing method, which becomes a part of the cured membrane.

Self Sealing – The highly flexible spray-applied membrane acts like a pliable rubber gasket, filling in voids and sealing around penetrations when placed under a load pressure.

Triple Protection – All three components of the system are methane barriers, thus providing complete system redundancy.

The Components:

BASE MEMBRANEECOSHIELD-P
An extremely tough, non-degrading poly-olifin sheet good that comes in 12ft x 120ft rolls for easy installation with a minimum of seams that provides a substrate for the liquid membrane.

MIDDLE MEMBRANEECOLINE-S
A spray-applied, high-build, exceptionally flexible, monolithic membrane that is the pliable, bonding gasket in the system.

TOP MEMBRANEECOSHIELD-PP
A puncture and abrasion resistant polyolefin sheet good that protects the other components from other construction damage.

The Installation Steps:

Step 1 – Base Barrier

• Lay ECOSHIELD-P in one direction with six-inch overlaps.
• Treat both sides of overlap with ECOLINE-R and compress with a roller.
• Apply ECOSHIELD-Tape along seam overlapping two-inches on each side.

Step 2 – Detailing

• Treat all penetrations by applying a base coat of ECOLINE-R in a 6" radius on the substrate around the pentration and 6" up on the penetrating object. Embed the polyester fabric into the base coat and apply a second coat of
ECOLINE-R, ensuring the fabric is completely saturated and covered.

Step 3 – Middle Barrier

• Place spray-markers every 12-ft. in all directions. ( if used )
• Begin spray application of ECOLINE-S from the lowest point on horizontal plane.
• Spray application pattern should be in 4ft x 4ft passes to a 20-mil build each pass.

Step 4 – Top Barrier

• Lay ECOSHIELD-PP in opposite direction of the base installation.
• Treat overlaps in same fashion as base.
• Terminate to exterior perimeter substrate by turning a six-inch flap up and applying seam sealer to flap and substrate and then attaching a termination bar to the flap and substrate.
