System III WATERPROOFING CONCRETE OR CMU PLANTERS
MULTIPLE DRAINAGE AND WATER BARRIERS IN ONE COMPOSITE SYSTEM

Features

Excellent Tensile Strength – The result of the unique field installed Composite Design.

Cost Effective – The material costs and installation speed, make this a high value, quality, and performance solution.

Built in Redundancy – All three components of the systems are waterproofing membranes, thus providing complete system integrity.

Elimination of Root and Chemical Damage – Is assured with the unique incorporation of the polyolefin sheet good and HDPE drainage composite, which are resistant to chemical attack and impregnable to plant root systems.

No Seam Failures – The highly flexible spray-applied or fluid applied, monolithic membrane bonds tenaciously to almost any substrate and in almost any conditions including green concrete and damp block.

The Components:

BASE MEMBRANE ECOLINE-S or R

A spray-applied OR FLUID APPLIED, high-build, exceptionally flexible, monolithic membrane that is the pliable, completely bonded, substrate waterproofing membrane.

MIDDLE MEMBRANE ECOSHIELD-E10

An extremely tough, non-degrading poly-olefin sheet-good that comes in 12ft x 120ft rolls for easy installation with a minimum of seams that acts as the primary protection course for the liquid membrane and as waterproofing membrane.

TOP MEMBRANE ECODRAIN-E

An exceptionally durable yet pliable HDPE drainage composite that protects the other components from damage, while providing the all-important drainage and acting as another membrane.

Optional Design:

A sand or gravel, and drain pipe system may be installed over drainage mat or lieu of drainage composite if required.

The Installation Steps:

Step 1 – Detailing
• Treat all cold joints (both 90 and 180 degree) by applying a coat of ECOLINE-R, embedding fabric 3-inches on each side of seam in it and then applying a second coat over the fabric. (a)
• Treat all penetrations in the same fashion, except applying 6-inches on to the penetration and field with fabric and ECOLINE-R.
• Treat all drains in same fashion, except applying 6-inches on to field and 3-inches into drain receptacle with ECOLINE-R and fabric. (b)
• Treat all tie-holes by brush with ECOLINE-T.
Fill all honeycombs, rock pockets, and missing mortar joints with hydraulic cement or rapid set grout.

Step 2 – Waterproofing Membrane
• Begin the application of ECOLINE-S from the bottom to top, horizontal to vertical, always applying from lowest to highest.
• Spray application should be done in 4ft x 4ft passes to 20-mil build on each pass.
• All interior 90 degree, cold joints should be built up to a cant strip thickness.
• At grade line an extra pass should be made to provide a gasket to attach the other components to.

Step 3 – Protection Course
• Begin installing ECOSHIELD on horizontal field terminating 6-inches up vertical walls.
• Begin installing on vertical walls at grade-line horizontally in one direction, attaching temporarily fasteners, and with six-inch overlaps on vertical and horizontal (top over bottom) seams including the field termination flaps.
• Treat both sides of overlap with ECOLINE-R and compress with a roller.
Apply ECOSHIELD-Tape along seam overlapping two-inches on each side.

Step 4 – Drainage Course
• Start by installing horizontal field first and terminating 6-inches up the walls. Then install the walls from top of grade and attach ECODRAIN-E to the wall at the top flange of drainage mat with termination bars and appropriate fasteners, through the other membranes.
• Overlap drainage mat six-inches at seams by pulling back filter fabric, applying ECOLINE-R, and snapping dimples together. On horizontal seams top sheet should overlap bottom sheet including the wall to floor termination.
