- Water repelling, penetrating, high bonding, flexible coating applied to the surface and cracks of concrete decks and slabs.
- Perform work in accordance with manufacturers printed instructions.
Maintain one copy of document on site.
- Manufacturer: Company specializing in manufacture of water repellent coatings with five years minimum experience.
Applicator: Certified and approved by manufacturer.
- Submit product data information.

Submit manufacturers installation instructions.
Submit manufacturers certificate that products meet or exceed specified requirements and that their application was according to manufacturers recommendation.
Submit manufacturers certificate that products supplied comply with local regulations controlling the use of volatile organic compounds (VOC).
Submit manufacturers test and inspection reports.
- PRE-INSTALLATION CONFERENCE
- Convene a pre-installation conference one week prior to commencing work of this Section.
Review installation procedures and coordination required with related work.
- Apply coating to 24 sq. ft area of each surface to be waterproofed, where directed by Architect.
- Provide manufacturers 5-year warranty for materials.
- Comply with all current federal, state, and local volatile organic compound (VOC) regulations.
- ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Do not apply coating when ambient temperature is lower than 40 degrees F or higher than 100 degrees F.
- EPRO Services, Inc. 800-882-1896.
- BOND&SEAL - A low viscosity, pre-polymer, hydrocarbon-based urethane material in 20% and 40% solids concentrations.

- Verify surfaces and cracks to be treated and coated, are dry, clean, and free of efflorescence, oil, or other matter before beginning the treatment of cracks and application of coating to the surface.
Beginning of installation means acceptance of substrate.
- Remove loose particles and foreign matter.
Remove oil or foreign substance with a cleaner that will not affect coating.
Protect adjacent surfaces not scheduled to receive coating.
Cracks of 1/8" or greater, or that contain spalled areas or are fragmented in structural sections within the crack shall be opened by routing or other means. The crack is then, to be moistened with water. The crack is then, to be filled with a BOND&SEAL 40% and silica sand mix to a level flush with the top of the substrate.
Areas containing cracks of less than 1/8 in., shall be treated with silica sand (blend of 30 and 60), by sprinkling and brushing it into the cracks. This is, immediately followed by a light watering, to ensure compaction of the sand into the cracks. This should be repeated, 2 to 3 times or until such time the silica is level with the substrates top surface.
F.? Excessive surface sand should be removed by an air blower or other effective means.
- Field inspection and testing will be performed.
Manufacturer of water repellant coating shall provide the inspection services as required.
- Delay work until top of substrate is dry to touch but sanded cracks are still damp.
Apply coating in one liberal flood application and using an industrial foam squeegee to move material into silica filled cracks to ensure complete saturation and to remove excess material. Application should commence from highest point to the lowest point.
For a finished non-skid surface, silica sand should be, lightly and evenly, broadcast on to the first coat, with a second coat of the coating being, immediately applied over the sand for increased adhesion.
- Protect adjacent surfaces from damages and stains.
Clean materials from surfaces where inadvertently applied.
Protect finished installation.
